Basics

What is arbitrage, or a surebet?

Odds imply a probability and include the sportsbook's margin. Decimal 2.00 implies 50%; 2.22 implies about 45%. Prices from a single sportsbook usually add up to more than 100%. The excess is its margin.

Sportsbooks don't price matches identically. Combine the best odds on each side and the implied probabilities can fall below 100%. That is an arb (arbitrage or surebet): split the stakes so both outcomes pay the same amount, greater than your total stake.

Platform

How the arbitrage board works

Manual arbitrage means comparing hundreds of odds before they move. Our engine scans sportsbooks such as Stake, Rainbet and Shuffle, matches events and markets and shows suitable pairs with calculated stakes.

Sample board opportunity Illustrative data, not current odds. This is how an arb appears in your dashboard.
  1. 01

    Built for moving prices

Odds refresh every 152 ms. Opportunities appear as detected and leave when prices change. Prematch and in-play have separate views.
  2. 02

    Freshness shown on every opportunity

✓ means both prices were recently refreshed. ! means you should check the sportsbooks directly. A lock means stale odds or an unavailable arb: don't bet using those prices.
  3. 03

    Settlement rule warnings

Abandoned matches and tennis retirements can settle differently across sportsbooks. The board flags mismatches, with a filter to exclude them.
  4. 04

    Safe stakes in $5 increments

Exact-cent stakes can be impractical. Safe stakes offer a pair rounded to $5 while retaining a positive return, and show the cost of rounding.
  5. 05

    DUAL opens both sportsbooks

Open both sportsbook betslips with one button. Each leg also has its own direct link.
  6. 06

“+” adds your bet to the tracker

After placing both bets, click “+” to save their odds and stakes. The tracker settles supported bets and calculates profit, ROI and sportsbook balances.

Know the practical risks

What can go wrong

The calculation assumes both bets are accepted and settle as expected. Execution risks include price moves, differing rules and account limits. Understand them before placing your first bet.

  • The odds move

You place the first leg, then the other price drops. You're left with an open position instead of a covered pair.

How we help: freshness indicators, DUAL links and the Open leg tool to calculate your hedge threshold.

  • A bet is voided

An abandoned match, retirement or pricing error can void one bet while the other remains active. The calculated return no longer holds.

How we help: settlement warnings on each opportunity and a filter for pairs with mismatched rules.

  • Account limits

Sportsbooks may reduce your maximum stake when you consistently take favourable prices. Account restrictions are a practical part of arbitrage.

How we help: practical rounded stakes and sportsbook balance tracking, so you know where your funds are available.

Questions

Arbitrage questions, answered

Is betting arbitrage legal?

An arb uses ordinary bets at different sportsbooks. You are responsible for checking local law and whether those sportsbooks may accept bets where you are. Sportsbooks can also restrict accounts under their rules.

Do I need to know the sport?

You don't need to predict the winner. You cover both sides at suitable prices. You do need to manage sportsbook accounts, fund them and place bets at the calculated stakes.

Why are amounts in dollars?

The board, calculators and tracker use USD as their common reference currency. Your sportsbook account currency determines the stake entered on its betslip.

How many arbs appear on the board?

The engine detects over 143 arbs daily. Some disappear within seconds as prices change. Each opportunity includes a freshness indicator; unavailable arbs leave the board.
